And if you have no money on the card and don't use it, they have no way of charging your a few (although I'd double check with Walmart just to be sure). How much more will depend on where you rent the car. The reason is that the rental car company won't know if they need to charge you for things like gas, car damage and extra days until you return the vehicle.
