An activation fee is the charge you incur when you activate your prepaid card. Most cards charge this fee, but we found some cards that don’t. The Green Dot® Prepaid MasterCard® offers free activation but you have to apply online. There is no credit check so anyone is eligible, even if you have bad credit. One cool feature about this card is it offers free cash withdraws at over 15,000 ATM’s. And if you make at least 30 purchases a month or load $1,000 on the card you won’t have to pay the $5.95 monthly fee. This card also offers a $10 bonus for signing up for direct deposit and having $250 deposited into the account within 5 days. There is no minimum balance required and you can never be charged overdraft fees or penalty fees. This card is accepted anywhere that MasterCard® Debit is accepted.
The Green Dot® Prepaid Visa® Card offers free activation when you apply online. This is a savings of $4.99 which is what you will have to pay if you do not apply online. This card also offers a $10 bonus for signing up for direct deposit and having $250 deposited into the account within 5 days. With this card there are 15,000 ATM’s that you can withdraw cash from and not have to pay the fee of $2.50. The monthly fee of $5.95 is waived when in any monthly billing cycle when you load at least $1,000 to your Card or have 30 posted purchase transactions. There is no minimum balance required for this card.
The Mango™ MasterCard® Prepaid Card offers free activation. The card also waives the monthly fee of $5 when you load $500 a month onto the card. With this card you get free direct deposit and there are tens of thousands of retail stores that you can load money from. Anyone can apply for this card regardless of you past credit issues. One unique feature of this card is that Mango Money also offers a savings account in which you can transfer money back and forth between the savings account and your prepaid account. This card is accepted any where that MasterCard® Debit is accepted.
The AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® Card does not charge a fee when you set up an account. The card also has a special bonus offer of $25 when you sign up for direct deposit. In order to be eligible you have to receive at least $100 in deposit for two consecutive months. There is a 100% approval guarantee and there is no credit checks. This means its ok to have bad credit. With this card you can work to improve your credit with their Credit Builder Program. This card can be used any where Visa® debit is accepted.
The AccountNow® Prepaid MasterCard® offers free activation. One special offer this card gives is a $25 cash back when you sign up for direct deposit. In order to be eligible for the offer you just have to have $100 deposited into the account for two consecutive months. The card requires no credit check so anyone can apply and get approved, even if you have bad credit. This card also offers a credit builder program which means you can work to improve your credit with this card. This card is accepted any where MasterCard® debit is accepted.
