Western Union® Moneywise Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard®

The Western Union® Moneywise Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard® is issued by MetaBank. It works just like any prepaid credit card in that you add funds to the account and from there you can begin making purchases. Once the funds are gone, you can simple add more money to the account. You can sign up for the card right online and once approved you will receive you card in the mail. Getting approved is easy because it doesn't matter what type of credit history you have. You can apply even if you have bad credit. You can also apply for a card at any Western Union location.

Loading the Card

You load the card by going to any Western Union location or you can sign up for direct deposit. At the Agent location, complete the grey Prepaid Services form, then hand your Western Union Prepaid Visa and your cash payment plus the applicable Load Fee (up to $4.95). Your loaded funds are typically available within minutes. You should first check with your employer to find out if they offer direct direct deposit. If so you can sign up and once it is in place your funds will be available right away. There is a minimum load of $30 and a maximum load of $950. The total balance on the Western Union Prepaid Visa Card cannot exceed $5,000 at any time. Only the cardholder or their employer, through Direct Deposit, can load funds to a Card. Your Card must be present when you load funds at an Agent location.

Setting Up Direct Deposit

At anytime you can set up Direct Deposit by printing out the Direct Deposit form from your online account. Just fill it out and give it to your employer. Your Direct Deposit funds are available to spend at 11:30 a.m. Central Standard Time on the day that your deposit is made to the Card. You may have unlimited Direct Deposits to your account per month, but your Card balance cannot be more than the maximum card balance at any time. Also, you can only load a Direct Deposit from one employer.

Using the Card

The card can be used to make cash withdraws from any ATM that has the Visa®, or STAR® brand. A fee of $2.00 applies to each ATM transaction, in addition to any fees the ATM owner fees. You can take make ATM withdraws as many times a day as you would like, however, you can't withdraw more than $500 per day. Remember, there is a $2.00 fee for each ATM withdrawal, plus any fees that the ATM operator may charge.

Western Union® Moneywise Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard®

Since this card is a prepaid card you will not be charged interest. You can't overdraft the account or go over the card limited so those types of fees are not charged either.
